Lundy was born at exactly 11:00 on the 11th! He was a big 15 oz at birth and, at four weeks, is now the 3rd biggest pup in the litter at 69 oz. Lundy may turn out to be either cafe au lait or apricot. He seems to be getting darker as he grows. He's always been a strong puppy with a big appetite. His personality so far seems relaxed and quiet.

Now at 6 weeks, Lundy does indeed appear to be cafe au lait and looks very similar to his brother Shire. Both are big, healthy boys with great conformation and personalities. Lundy's coat is thick and waving already. Lundy is becoming more outgoing as he gets older and loves to play.

Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test Results

Lundy's scores (six 3's, one 2, one 4, one 5, one 6) indicate a very friendly and calm puppy. He came immediately to our tester and licked her hands and followed her when she walked. He did not struggle at all when she held him on his back but struggled and settled when held in the air. He showed an average degree of touch sensitivity. For retrieving he chased the object and returned it to me instead of the tester. So he showed retrieving ability and loyalty at the same time! He was interested in strange objects and investigated, but was so calm about the strange sound that he didn't even look for the source. Lundy is a very loving guy, who would make a wonderful family dog. He ought to be easy to train and affectionate and friendly. He would be a good choice for most any situation- family, children, showing, hunting etc. Lundy just wants lots of love and attention and is ready to return it.

Puppy Puzzle Conformation results

Lundy showed exceptionally sound temperament and an elegant proud posture when tested. His measurements were perfect at 13 1/2 inches at the shoulder and 13 1/2 inches long. Lundy is likely to be a big guy like both of his parents. His is quite a bit heavier than brothers Clyde and Rocky at this point, somehow managing to keep weight on while growing in perfect proportion. Lundy's only 4's were for eyes slightly on the round side and not as oblique as a few of his siblings, and for his ears which are a tad above his eyes and don't hang as close to his face as say, brother Clyde. His tail set is nice and high, which is good but his tail has a tendency to tip just a tiny bit too far forward at times so we gave that a 4 as well. But Lundy showed particularly good depth of chest, and the straightness of his back legs and knees was one of the best in the litter. His topline is nice and level with the correct slight dip just below his shoulder. When stacked in the show pose, Lundy appears very well balanced. All of his scores indicate a puppy who is an excellent candidate for show or breeding.
